The
Rooms at the Wickaninnish Inn
The
first thing you notice as you enter every one of the 46
spacious guest rooms is the awe inspiring ocean view revealed
by floor to ceiling picture windows. Step out onto your
private balcony, breathe in the fresh salt air, listen to
the waves crash onto the rocks below and know you have arrived
at nature's edge.
As
you explore your room, you discover that every need has
been anticipated... a book collection, binoculars, private
bar, CD clock radio, writing desk, microwave, coffee maker,
as well as a large screen television in the armoire, and
a down duvet on the king or queen-sized bed.
After
a leisurely walk on Chesterman Beach, enjoy a hot bath in
your oversized soaker tub enhanced by aromatherapy bath
salts. Relax by your fireplace in comfortable arm chairs
and thick terry bathrobes to read a good book or simply
watch nature unfold outside your window.
In
keeping with the Inn's commitment to the environment, the
furniture has been fashioned from recycled old growth fir,
western red cedar and driftwood. The textures found in nature
are reflected in the wool sisal carpet, natural stone tile
and rough hewn cedar mantelpiece. Custom made armoires and
desks, while rustic in appearance, are finished with top
quality hand forged hardware. Completing the collection,
each room features a handmade driftwood chair, individually
numbered by the artist, Maxwell Newhouse.
The
importance of communications technology has not been overlooked.
Dual telephone lines with high speed data capability allow
you to talk on the telephone while sending a fax, catching
up on your e-mail or surfing the web.
