The Columbia River Safari
If you’re looking for an experience that encompasses nature, fun, learning and many laughs, nothing surpasses the Columbia River Safari! This 2 hour tour will enthrall and entertain, resulting in the most memorable experience of your vacation.
Your river adventure begins at the Columbia River Discovery Centre, just west of Golden, BC. Here, you’ll meet your guide, as well as your captain. After a short walk down to the river, your Rocky Mountain river adventure begins. Aboard our custom built river craft, you’ll cruise smoothly along the Columbia, stopping occasionally at points of interest along the way.

The Golden Discovery Safari
offered from June 9th to September 16th

What happens when you combine a river safari with a visit to a spectacular mountain resort? You end up with a full day adventure that will be relived for years to come! The morning begins with a Columbia River Safari, where you’ll learn about the early explorers of the wild west, carve through scenic canyons, and hopefully catch a glimpse of the fascinating wildlife.
Next stop – Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Have your cameras ready as you soar over 4,000 vertical feet on the sightseeing gondola. At the summit, soak up the spectacular mountain views while dining on your “Sky Lunch” at the Eagle’s Eye restaurant. Finish your day at the on-mountain grizzly bear refuge with resident grizzly Boo.

Wetland Wildlife Safari

Eagles and beavers and bears… Oh my! Against the relaxing backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, experience the serenity and wonder of the Columbia Wetlands. Guests witness their surroundings come alive as they drift silently by… giving them the ideal opportunity to see nature up close and personal.
Your on-board guide will amaze guests with their local knowledge of the history, ecology, and wildlife of the Columbia Valley. With over 50 species of mammals, and over 250 species of birds using the world famous Columbia Wetlands as a migratory route, this safari is a bird watcher’s dream come true! |
