ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival

On arrival in Campbell River you are transported by water taxi to Sonora Resort. Enjoy a scenic 1-hour journey as you pass through narrow channels between spectacular wooded islands. On arrival at the resort you will be welcomed with a beverage and introduced to the luxurious facilities at the lodge.

Days 2-4 Sonora Resort

  • 5-hour guided salmon fishing trip: At Sonora Resort you will experience some of the most exciting salmon fishing on the West Coast. Enjoy an exhilarating trip in a state-of-the-art Grady White. Discover the difference expert guides, high-tech fish finders and GPS systems can make to the size of your catch. As for your catch, the resort will prepare it for transportation as you wish - fresh frozen, candied, barbecued or smoked
  • 3-hour nature tour: Enjoy a guided tour presented by a knowledgeable local guide who will show the nature highlights of the area. Depending on the season and the weather you may see bears, copious bird life and marine wildlife including whales, seals and porpoises
  • Half-day guided ocean kayak trip: Accompany seasoned guides through the matchless scenery and calm, protected waters of the Outer Discovery Islands. Kayakers here have even been known to encounter schools of dolphins -or look up to see bald eagles, kingfishers and herons soaring overhead. The peaceful quiet of paddling makes a kayak expedition the ideal way to commune with nature, up close
  • 1-hour Swedish aromatherapy massage: Enjoy a massage in the resort's luxury Wellness Centre, which includes a full gym, sauna and steam rooms, and several outdoor hot pools. A full range of additional spa services is also available to purchase

    The main lodge also boasts an open bar, pool and shuffleboard, to gold simulators and a 12-seat movie theatre, all for the comfort and convenience of the resort guests.

    At the end of each day you are treated to exceptional dining in the resort restaurant. Sonora's food focus is simple; exquisite West Coast cuisine created from ingredients that are fresh, local, organic where possible, and served in very generous portions. The gourmet menu changes daily, offering delicious entrees including meat, fish and shellfish, with vegetarian options available upon request.

  • Day 5 Sonora Resort

    After breakfast and a morning enjoying the resort, return by water taxi to Campbell River, where your Sonora Experience ends.
