Chris was appointed CEO and member of the Board of Managers of PureWest in May 2021 after serving as President and COO of the predecessor company since October 2020. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Middle Fork Energy Partners, a private equity backed Uinta Basin portfolio company that he co-founded. Prior to that, Chris worked for Vantage Energy, a private company with assets in Texas and Pennsylvania, where he served as VP of Planning & Marketing. Before Vantage, Chris held commercial and technical positions of increasing responsibility at Encana where his last role was VP of Planning. He started his career as a consultant focused on natural gas market fundamentals analysis. Chris earned a BS degree in engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from the Daniels College of Business at University of Denver.
Ty serves as President and Chief Financial Officer of PureWest. Prior to joining the company in the October 2020, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Middle Fork Energy Partners, a private equity backed Uinta Basin portfolio company and its successor company, KODA Resources. Prior to that, Ty worked for Citadel, where he served as Head of Corporate Development for the firm’s Natural Gas business. Before Citadel, Ty held various leadership roles at Noble Group, Freepoint Commodities, Société Générale Energy, RBS Sempra Commodities, and Encana Corporation. Ty earned a BS degree in economics from the Colorado School of Mines with a minor in engineering.
Chris has over 25 years of industry experience and has been the Senior Vice President, Development since joining the predecessor company in October 2020. Previously, he held several leadership roles at Ovintiv (formerly Encana) including Chief Reservoir Engineer, VP Corporate Reserves, and VP Western Operating Area. Prior to Encana, Chris worked for Shell, ARCO, and Conoco in various managerial, engineering, and commercial roles. He started his career as an U.S. Army officer and is a veteran of the Gulf War. Chris earned a BS degree in engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Chris is a registered professional engineer in the states of Colorado and Wyoming.
Kelly was appointed SVP of ESG, Land, and Regulatory of PureWest in May 2021. She joined Ultra in 2014 as the Regulatory and Environmental Manager and succeeded multiple positions with increasing responsibility until serving as the Director of ESG and Regulatory with a focus on growing the culture of safety, compliance, and environmental diligence. Prior to that, Kelly founded 307 Consulting LLC, where she was selected to coordinate shared environmental and regulatory policy positions and compliance activities for Ultra, Shell and QEP in the Pinedale Anticline field. She earned a BS degree in engineering from the University of Wyoming and started her career with the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality in the Air Quality Division with a focus on federal NEPA Engagement, policy development, and planning.
Worth has served in this role for both PureWest and its predecessor company since October 2020. Previously, he served as VP-Land & Regulatory of Middle Fork Energy Partners, a private equity backed Uinta Basin portfolio company. Prior to that, Worth worked for Vantage Energy, a private company with assets in the Texas and Pennsylvania, where he served as SVP Land. Before Vantage, Worth served as VP-Land for Range Resources. He started his career as a landman working for various companies including Encana, Bass Enterprises, Sun Oil and Phillips Petroleum. Worth earned a BBA degree in petroleum land management from the University of Texas at Austin.
Kason was appointed SVP, General Counsel and Secretary of PureWest in December 2020 after serving as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of the predecessor company since April 2019. Previously, he served as Deputy General Counsel, Corporate of Halcón Resources Corporation (now Battalion Oil Corporation), a publicly traded exploration and production company, working primarily on the company’s capital markets transactions, acquisitions and divestitures and upstream and midstream activities. Prior to that, he was an associate attorney at Latham & Watkins LLP and Bracewell LLP in the capital markets and corporate practice groups. Kason holds a B.B.A. degree in finance, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center where he graduated magna cum laude and served as the Executive Editor of the Houston Law Review.
Frank has served as SVP, Operations since joining the predecessor company October 2020. He brings 38 years of drilling, completion, production and EHS experience to PureWest. Previously, he served as SVP of Operations for Middle Fork Energy Partners, a private equity backed Uinta Basin portfolio company that he co-founded. Prior to that, Frank worked for Encana as D & C Manager -Southern Region with assets in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming. Before Encana, Frank held engineering and technical positions of increasing responsibility at multiple private companies. He started his career as an operations engineer drilling natural gas wells all through the northeast. Frank earned a BS degree in petroleum engineering from the West Virginia University and Executive Education in Advanced Management from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Mark joined the Company in June 2019. Prior to joining, Mark served in various roles at SM Energy Company from 1996 to 2018, most recently as Vice President and Controller from 2011 to 2018. He began his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young LLP and was there from 1991 to 1996, working first in EY’s Nashville office and then in their Denver office. He serves as Board President of Colorado Christian Services, is a member of the board of Dry Bones Denver and is a past Board Chair of the Colorado Society of CPAs. Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with a political science minor from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Jamie was appointed SVP, Administration of PureWest in December 2020 after serving as SVP and CHRO since April 2019. His responsibilities include Human Resources, IT, Risk Management and facilities. Previously, Jamie served for 15 years in a similar role as EVP of Intrepid Potash, Inc. (NYSE: IPI). Prior to that, he served in various leadership roles in the insurance industry, including leading the Denver office of Marsh McLennan. Jamie began his career as a Petroleum Landman for Diamond Shamrock Corporation. Jamie holds a BBA in finance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and an MBA from the University of Denver.
Anthony was appointed VP, Finance of PureWest in November 2021 after serving as Sr. Director, Finance of the predecessor company since July 2019. Previously, he served as Director of Finance for Ursa Resources, a private exploration and production portfolio company of Denham Capital, working primarily on the company’s corporate development and financial planning and analysis functions for both upstream and midstream activities. Prior to that, Anthony was a Finance and Business Development Analyst at Cascade Petroleum, a private exploration and production portfolio company of Denham Capital. Before joining Cascade Petroleum, he was an Energy Investment Banking Analyst at Scotiabank. He began his career in Private Banking as an Analyst at JP Morgan. Anthony holds a B.B.A. degree in Finance, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mark was appointed VP, Production Operations in March of 2022 after holding various Operational Excellence roles at PureWest since October 2020. Previously, he held numerous roles over his 12-years at Ovintiv including Manager, Construction, Reclamation, and Water in the Permian basin, Sr. Analytics Advisor in the Chief of Operations Engineering, and Lean Advisor on the Norther Operations team exposing him to multiple basins (Permian, DJ, Green River, Jonah, Bakken, and Eagle Ford) and functions (Production, Completions, Drilling, and Land). Prior to that, he worked at Johns Manville for over 10 years in business leadership, Six Sigma, and marketing roles. Before Johns Manville Mark was self-employed as the co-owner of a fire water restoration company. Mark earned BA in Psychology from the University of Montana, as well as a BA in Business and an MBA from Washington State University.
Joe Beer started with PureWest in the spring of 2022 and serves as Vice President, Geosciences. Joe has 15 years of industry experience focused on exploration and development of North American unconventional resources. Most recently Joe served as Sr. Manager of the Permian Basin reservoir charactarization team at Ovintiv. Prior to that role Joe worked for Ovintiv/Encana in various leadership and technical positions supporting assets in the Gulf Goast, San Juan, Piceance, Uinta, Wind River, Green River, and DJ Basins. Joe holds a BA degree in Geology and Environmental Studies from Gustavus Adolphus College and earned an MS degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
