GIS Technology Provider Esri Recognized PureWest at Annual User Conference

REDLANDS, Calif. & DENVER, Colo., August 2, 2023 – Esri, the global leader in geographic information system (GIS) software, location intelligence and mapping, presented PureWest Energy, LLC (“PureWest” or “the Company”) with the Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award at the recent annual Esri User Conference (Esri UC).

Selected from hundreds of thousands of users, PureWest, a leading Rocky Mountain independent natural gas producer recognized for its low greenhouse gas emission rates and industry-leading technology, received the award for its innovative use of mapping and analytics technology, as well as leadership in the field of ESG reporting in the E&P industry.

The SAG Award is intended to demonstrate an appreciation for organizations around the world that are using geographic information system (GIS) technology to understand vast amounts of data and solve complex problems.

“Users across all industries continue to show the groundbreaking possibilities of what GIS can help them accomplish,” said Esri founder and president Jack Dangermond. “We are honored to recognize all the organizations for the many ways they are taking a geographic approach toward meeting some of the most pressing challenges our world faces today. We congratulate PureWest, and its partners, for pioneering these important ESG-focused solutions.”

PureWest partnered with GeoMarvel and FTI Consulting to turn their 2021 ESG report into an ArcGIS StoryMap, providing stakeholders with an inside look into the company’s sustainability efforts, and its continued advancements in technology to support corporate social responsibility.

“Our business and ESG strategies are fully integrated, and we’re focused on creating value for all of our stakeholders through transparency including data across our industry-leading operations and a team-wide commitment to excellence,” said PureWest Chief Executive Officer Chris Valdez. “We’re honored and proud to receive this award, which reflects the hard work of our talented team and trusted partners.”
